This rescue is a small, non-profit organisation, funded by kind donations and fundraising.
Its aim is to rescue as many neglected and unwanted dogs from dog pounds as is possible.
When dogs are picked up by the council wardens they get taken to council pounds or boarding kennels where they are held for seven to ten days.
This gives the owner time to try and locate their dog. After this the dog becomes the property of the council. Some councils rehome themselves, some offer dogs to rescues to rehome and I'm sorry to say that some destroy the dogs but that is rare .
The sad thing is that sometimes a dog can be found in one town but taken to a kennel in another town thus making it hard to trace by the owner. This situation could be improved and dogs returned to owners if all dogs were to be microchipped and details kept up to date. Please support the work of all rescues by microchipping your dogs. Thank you.
